A workplace for your knowledge

Not another portal where things are filed away and never found again. One line to ask — and beneath it the documents the answer comes from.

What is the notice period in the framework agreement with Nordwerk?

The notice period is three months to the end of a quarter. If notice is not given in time, the agreement is automatically extended by twelve months. [1][2]

§ 8 Term and termination. The agreement begins on the day it is signed and is concluded for an indefinite period.

The agreement can be terminated with three months’ notice to the end of a quarter.

The administration of an example organisation: who is on board, what is in the knowledge base and what the current period cost — on a single page.

Beyond the question

When one answer is not enough

Some questions are bigger than a chat. Research works through them — with your documents, not just what is on the web.

Research

Your situation, next to what applies outside

Vryne splits the question into sub-questions and works through them: first in your documents, then on the web. The result is a coherent report instead of a list of links.

  • The plan is shown before the start — sub-questions editable, costs capped
  • Up to three sub-questions at once, the report arrives in minutes
  • Every statement with a source: your document or the page read

Research costs credits like a question in chat, just more of them. That is why Vryne shows what it will cost before every start.

Digital sovereignty

Sovereign means: here, not elsewhere

Application, database, document storage, backups and the language models run in German data centres. No transfer to a third country takes place for your documents, questions and answers. The only exception is, temporarily, mail delivery via Resend in the USA — it carries sign-in links, invitations and purchase confirmations, never document content.

Where each layer runs

  • Application Germany
  • Database and vector index Germany
  • Document storage and backups Germany
  • Logs and metrics Germany
  • Language models Germany

Verifiable, not claimed

Who besides us is involved in an answer is listed openly among the subprocessors. The data processing agreement is in German, place of jurisdiction is Germany.

No third-country transfer for your content

Processing of your documents, questions and answers ends in Germany. That removes the question of whether standard contractual clauses hold for them in individual cases — for your documentation, the reference to processing in Germany is enough. The only exception is, temporarily, mail delivery via Resend (USA); it carries sign-in links, invitations and purchase confirmations, never content from your knowledge base.

Separated, not just filtered

Documents, sections and chats belong to your organisation. No search and no answer crosses that boundary — not even by accident.

Open models, no training

Only open models are used. The provider sees only the passages a question currently needs and does not train on them.

In three steps

Up and running by the afternoon

  1. 01

    Create the organisation

Enter a name, invite the team by email or domain. No password, no credit card, no sales call.

  2. 02

    Upload documents

The handful of files most questions revolve around. Vryne processes them in minutes and tells you when they are ready.

  3. 03

    Ask questions

In full sentences, in your own words. The answer comes with the sources it came from — verifiable with one click.

The comparison

Rent Copilot, build it yourself — or Vryne

Most teams face this choice. All three paths work — they differ in where processing happens (with Vryne as much as possible in Germany), which models the answers come from and where you stand legally.

Pricing

You pay for what you ask

No base fee, no price per seat, no minimum spend. Only usage is billed — what you don’t ask costs nothing.

In the pilot phase

€ 0

Base fee — per organisation and per person

While Vryne is in the pilot phase, neither the organisation nor a single seat costs anything. A model with a base fee is in the works; today you only pay for actual usage.

  • No price per seat

Invite the whole team — by email, CSV list or your email domain. A seat costs nothing, no matter how many there are.

  • Credit instead of subscription

Credit is bought in advance, belongs to the organisation and never expires. What a question costs is shown in credits right at the model selection.

  • 1,000 credits to start

A gift when you create an organisation — enough to ask your first own documents before anything is paid.

  • Usage at a glance

What a question costs depends on the model and is shown right at the selection. Every charge is listed in the usage overview afterwards.

All amounts net, plus VAT. Credit packages start at € 20.

What the pilot phase means

When the pilot phase ends, we move existing organisations to an official free plan — purchased credit remains untouched. Organisations that stay unused for a long time may be deleted after prior notice. What that means in detail is set out in the Terms of use.

Questions and answers

What gets asked before the start

The points the decision usually comes down to.

Is Vryne GDPR-compliant?

Vryne is built so that its use in your organisation is GDPR-compliant: documents, questions, answers and the vectors computed from them are processed exclusively in German data centres, no transfer to a third country takes place for them, and no model is trained on your content. Add to that a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR with a TOM annex and an open list of subprocessors.

Where is our data processed?

In German data centres, with Sliplane in Falkenstein: application, database, vector index, document storage, backups and logs. The language models, too, run exclusively in Germany via a European gateway. No US cloud provider is involved, not even with a region in Frankfurt.

Is our content used to train models?

No. Neither Vryne nor the operator of the models trains on your documents, questions or answers. Technically the model layer only ever receives the text sections a single question currently needs — never the full knowledge base.

Do we need a data processing agreement?

Yes, and you get it from us: under Art. 28 GDPR, in German, with a TOM annex and the list of subprocessors; the place of jurisdiction is Germany. For your record of processing, the reference to processing in Germany is enough — the review of whether standard contractual clauses hold in individual cases does not apply to your documents.

What happens to our documents when we delete them?

What you delete disappears immediately: documents are removed together with their text sections and the vectors computed from them, and answers no longer rely on them. The original files can be downloaded at any time. No index remains that still knows a deleted piece of content.

Is Vryne a European alternative to ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini?

Yes. Vryne is enterprise AI from Germany for organisations in Germany and Europe: application, data and language models run exclusively in German data centres — without OpenAI, Microsoft, Anthropic or Google and without a US cloud. Unlike a general chatbot, Vryne answers from your own documents and backs every statement with document, page and passage. Contract and data processing agreement are German, the place of jurisdiction is Germany.

What does the EU AI Act mean for using Vryne?

Vryne is an assistance system for knowledge and research and as such usually does not fall under the high-risk categories of the AI Act — as long as you do not use it yourself for a high-risk purpose such as recruitment. The required transparency is built in: answers are recognisable as AI answers, every statement is backed by its source, and usage is recorded in the activity log. Classifying your specific use and the AI literacy duty under Art. 4 remain with you as the deployer.
